Safety and Quality Systems Management Pty Ltd have expanded business operations into the rural sector to support the quality management aspect of rural enterprises and compliance requirements of farming operations.
With experience and involvement in rural business operations on the South Coast of NSW since 1990, SQSM Pty Ltd offer their services to support and assist farmers in meeting their responsibilities and obligations under the biosecurity legislation.
Farm biosecurity incorporates procedures, designed to protect a property from the entry and spread of pests, diseases and weeds. Farm biosecurity is the responsibility of the property owner and that of every person visiting or working on the farm.
If a new pest or disease becomes established on a property, it will affect the business through increased costs (for monitoring, production practices, additional chemical use and labour), reduced productivity (in yield and/or quality) or loss of markets. Early detection and immediate reporting of an exotic pest or disease increases the chance of effective and efficient eradication.
Farm Biosecurity is an important part of Australia’s emergency animal disease and exotic plant pest surveillance systems. Surveillance allows Government agencies to preserve existing trade opportunities and provides evidence of Australia’s pest and animal disease status to support access to international markets.

Safety and Quality Systems Management can provide the following services:

• Develop safety, quality, environmental, biosecurity and human resources management manuals, procedures, policies, formats, specific plans strategies and support documents.
• Develop documents to suit Federal and State Government contract requirements such as; WH&S, environmental, project, quality assurance, industrial relations, human resource, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, training and biosecurity management plans.
• Support and assist in the preparation of systems and documentation for third party accreditation in WH&S to AS 4801, quality assurance to AS/NZS ISO 9001 standards and environmental management systems to ISO 14001.
• Develop and facilitate training of personnel in safe work practises, legislation, occupational health and safety. environmental and quality assurance procedures, contract and project managementocedures.
• Develop and deliver presentations on safety, quality assurance, environmental, project and contract management principles.
• Facilitate, coordinate and conduct seminars for stakeholders on various safety, quality assurance and environmental topics.
• Assist in the development and initiating a safety, quality and environmental reporting systems.
• Develop company risk assessments and implement risk management techniques and strategies in businesses engaged in design, contracting, manufacturing, industrial and commercial applications nationally.
• Formulate and implement safety, quality assurance and environmental audit programs.
• Developing pro-active initiatives to reduce the incidents and injuries in the workplace.
• Undertake audits and reviews to address safety, environmental, quality assurance and operational compliance with policies and procedures.
• Assist in the management of incidents, injuries, workers compensation insurance costs, claims and employee return to work.
